Hit the Road Dude Dog — the Pet Version
The pet wave is the version people actually post: your dog in the driver’s seat, camo cap and flannel, one paw up while a visitor gets told to leave. One photo is enough.
Use Pet mode. Upload one front-facing photo of the dog with good light and visible markings, pick a scene, and render an 11-second clip. Pet mode keeps the dog’s own face, ears, fur and markings, and puts its paws on the wheel.
Why the dog version took over
In October 2026 the remakes stopped being about people and started being about pets. A dog cannot argue about property lines, and it cannot deliver the line — which is exactly why it works. The glare survives the swap, the absurdity doubles, and the joke lands without a single coherent word from the driver.
The format also travels better than a human version: a pet clip reads as cute first and meme second, so it gets shared outside the meme audience.
What pet mode actually changes
Pet mode is not a filter over the human version. It keeps the animal’s own face, ears, fur and markings, seats it upright behind the wheel, and gives it paws instead of hands on the door.
- Keeps: face shape, coat colour, markings, ear set, eye colour.
- Replaces: the driver’s body, clothes and hands.
- Varies: pets drift more from run to run than people — regenerate if the markings slip.
The photo that renders best
A straight-on portrait beats an action shot every time. You want the face large in frame, both eyes visible, good light, and nothing covering the markings you care about. A running or side-on photo gives the model less to work with, and the result tends to look like a generic dog rather than yours.
- Upload a clear, front-facing photo of your dog.
- Pick Pet and choose a scene.
- Generate the 11-second clip and download the MP4.
Dog, cat or human?
| Version | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Dog | The funniest, most-shared version | Markings drift on busy coats |
| Cat | Deadpan energy, strong on short-haired cats | Long fur can smear at the edges |
| Human | Looking like yourself in the clip | Needs a clean, front-facing photo |
If you want the cat version specifically, the same rules apply — see the cat guide.
